Help with my online accounts

If you need help with any Virgin Media or O2 accounts linked to your Virgin Media O2 ID, we’ve got some frequently asked questions below to help you.

Frequently asked questions

We’ve recently turned off the ability to set up additional online accounts through My Virgin Media. These were accounts that someone you trust could sign in with separately, to access some of your online account features. Around this time, we also stopped allowing customers to create a Virgin Media Mail account and Virgin Media email address.

Previously these secondary accounts could refer a friend and check for service faults or outages. You can now do both these things without signing in to My Virgin Media.

Refer a Friend

Check for faults and outages

You can nominate delegates to help manage your O2 account, just follow
these steps:

  1. Sign in with your Virgin Media O2 ID

  2. Go to Account settings, and then ID settings

  3. Tap Manage your products

  4. Head to the O2 account section and tap Nominated delegates

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions

You can view this information at the bottom of the Manage your products page via Account settings. Just navigate down to the O2 accounts section and any accounts you’ve been given access to listed under Other O2 accounts

We link your accounts with the email address you’ve used previously to sign in to My Virgin Media and My O2.

If you want to change the email address you use for either your My Virgin Media or My O2 account, you can do so by registering a new Virgin Media O2 ID with a new email address, or by signing in to an existing account that doesn’t have any services associated to it.

You can then manually search for the account you want to link. Follow the journey online to set this up and link it to your account.

You can separate your accounts in a few simple steps.

  1. Create a new Virgin Media O2 ID with a different email address (that belongs to you)

  2. Then search for the account you’d like to be associated with your new Virgin Media O2 ID

  3. Go through the security steps and finish setting up your new ID

That way you can keep your Virgin Media log in details and your O2 log in details separately.

To get the best out of managing your account online, it’s best to create just one Virgin Media O2 ID link both of your Virgin Media and O2 accounts to it.
